Question: My partner took the plan b pill. How effective are they . She took it 20 minutes after intercourse.

Plan B taken within 72 hrs is very effective. Many studies have been done. FDA states its efficacy to prevent pregnancy as high as 80 to 85 %.

What about say the ovulation was happening egg came out. Would plan b still work?

If egg has already released then its not very protective. In such a case inserting a copper-IUD or maybe medical termination of pregnancy are other options.
But I don't think it will be needed.

I think its futile to worry at this point. We have already done the best to prevent pregnancy. The cervical mucous will become thicker and prevent entry of sperms. At most, you can ask your gynecologist to insert a copper-intrauterine device.

Even if pregnancy happens, there are other options.
