My Period Was Due On Tuesday And I Didn’t Get

HYPOMENORRHOEA
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query to Ask A Doctor Service,
The presence of darkish brown / blackish vaginal discharge seen especially during the due date for menses indicates hypomenorrhoea and possible cause being hormonal imbalance during this particular cycle which is often stress induced in most cases ( 80%). if the pattern has been similar since last 3 cycles then you need to be investigated for your hormonal profile ( fsh,lh, amh, serum estradiol, serum testosterone and serum prolactin) with thyroid prpofile with an ultrasound pelvis to rule out pother most common organic causes for hypo and oligomenorrhoea like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactinemia and polycystic ovarian disease.
The presence of yellowish discharge can often be due to a secondary vaginal bacterial infection which can be diagnosed with a high vaginal swab culture.
However, you can opt for wait for a week to allow the flow to start naturally. Keep the hydration status good and follow up if no menses in next one week.
Also to be kept in mind is , if you have been sexually active , then it would be best to rule out pregnancy first.
I hope this helps,
Regards
