My Question Is This - The Gum Seems Healed But Nerves Under And Around It Are Still Inflamed

Question: Hello, doctor. I believe I mentioned I had some gum work done about a month ago on the side with the AO and asked u about meds. I've been taking the meds and increasing the dose but to no avail. The gum work done was directly on the spot where AO originated from so I am wondering if more time will allow for some relief since it is still at a 10 intensity. My question is this - the gum seems healed but I know the nerves under and around it are still inflamed from the cutting and having AO. Approx how long does it take for a nerve to start to grow back in this situation? I know u told me once a long time ago and I believe said it was a few months but I have forgotten. Thank u for your reply.
Brief Answer:
I will explain as follows.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for your direct questions.
I have read your new question about nerve growth after damage.
The reinnervation depends on the length that the peripheral nerve should grow back.
Generally, the growth rate for a damaged nerve is 1 millimeter in 24 hours, but other factors, such as scar tissue, local inflammation, and general health conditions, may affect the growth rate.
In summary, there should be some improvement in a couple of months.
I hope this helps.
Feel free to ask if you have further questions.
