My Question Now Is If My Blood Pressure Keeps Going Up Should I Take Another Lisinopril Or Should I Take One Clonidine?

Question: I have been taking Lisinopril (10 grams) for years, but in the past 10 days all of a sudden it does not control my blood pressure for more than a few hours. I took one dose about 5 this afternoon. It was 133/78 about 7, but now it is 181/93. (9:20) My doctor gave me a prescription for Clonidine, but said only take it in an emergency. I will caall him in the morning. My question now is if my blood pressure keeps going up should I take another Lisinopril or should I take one Clonidine?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
After carefully passing through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that after years of use to one medicine put body develops a kind of resistance to it up to some extent due to which it become less effective. Now considering your age group and blood pressure levels I would like to suggest you that you should go with your doctors advise of adding clonidine.
Adding a second drugs is always better as it prevents the side effects of single drug with high dose.
Hope to have been helpful.
Kind Regards
