My Question To Be Answered By Dr XXXXXXX D. Dear
Dear doctor,
As per our last discussion about my mother,we had admitted her for engioplasty ,.yesterday .
After examining the reports, he did engiography first and told us that engioplasty was not needed,as her heart rate was 68% which was improving,He found the block of 99% in right artery to be improved to 90%.
My mom did a heavy diet for 3 months with walking exercise for 30min.Her weight reduced by 11kg.
He said 2 stents may be required in her case .No need to be hurry as heart attack recurrence
is possible in first month from the symtom time which was 14 feb in her case.
But I have certain querries,
1.We opted ayrvedic treatment ,Massage, bhasti, panchakarma etc.
2.She did a very heavy diet which reduced her so much,
3,Cardiologist had given blood thinner and cholestrol reduction tablets,
I want to ask you that does such abrupt weiht reduction can lead problems in future??
2.Did that diet or exercise and ayurvedic treatment really helped in her case?
3.What is the role of allopathy medication given to her??or else they onlyplayed a key role in stabilizing the blocks and increasing the flow rate??
4.What type of diet is expected in reality??
yesterday in the heart institute,,after engiography, the food given to her was like normally people without diet eat ie less oily, containing salads and sprouts etc,
Why I m asking u keenly to know futute consequences for not doing plsty hurriedly.
Regards,
Ms.Abhyankar

This news is wonderful, all thanks to Allopathic medicines and strict diet.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thank you very much for writing back to me with the updates regarding your mother.
It is indeed wonderful to know that the size of block has reduced from previous angiogram.
This is the reason I asked you to go for an angiogram again.
Stent placement is not required at this time as the block is reducing in size and your mother is doing well with heart function also improved (68% EF).
1. Ayurveda has not at all helped.. There is no logical or scientific evidence that suggests that any of the ayurvedic treatments taken have any role to play in reducing the block size.
The block size has reduced only because of the cholesterol lowering medicines and blood thinners. Helped by the strict low oil diet your mother took.
2. Weight reduction will also help by lowering cholesterol levels. 10 KG reduction is not harmful, but now she has to continue taking adequate and nutritious food, it should not be rich in free sugars and oils.
Continued extreme calorie restriction is not advisable as it causes metabolic disturbances such as those seen in starving people, so let her eat fresh vegetables and greens, sprouts, if she wishes, she can eat fish, and drink coffee in moderation.
3. Allopathic medicine is the one that has actually worked in your mother's case, these medicines actually reduce the block and prevent formation of new blocks by reducing the cholesterol level in the blood and also not allowing platelets to clump together inside the arteries and suddenly closing the already narrow blocked sites.
That is how these medicines work, as you can guess, ayurveda has no such action and hence can not do anything.
4. Please follow the diet guidelines of the heart institute, do not worry too much dear XXXXXXX Continue Cholesterol lowering medicines and blood thinners, reduce sugar in the diet, reduce oily and fried foods, otherwise she can eat normally, no problem at all.
Her total calorie goal per day should be about 1500 KiloCalories.
You can consult a nutritionist and ask her/him to prepare a diet chart and follow that.
I am really happy to know that your mother has made such wonderful recovery and very relieved for you. More than your mother, you were spoiling your health over all these.
Now, I expect you to improve as well. Do not take so much stress and remember, I will be here always to help.
There is no hurry to do angioplasty and stenting, it can be done at your convenience.
I hope that answers your query.
Take care of yourself XXXXXXX and stay healthy.
Warm regards

yes, as u said, i was really worried about my mom, since the blocks had been detected.
1.My mom was going to ayurvedic sittings( Madhavbaug,in XXXXXXX have branches all over XXXXXXX )
2.She was given the kit of diet including flours ,green tea saches etc. That diet really worked. But let me tell you that she is 72 ,now. To follow such stringent diet is really difficult.Does this really required? Can she eat oily food atleast once in a month?
3.I understand that we always should follow healthy diet but then what is the use if a person lives longer with too many restrictions? I have seen few of my relatives whose engioplasty even CABG is done but are following normal diet ie. less suger intake, less oil in food.I have seen those people in our comman gatherings ,eating the same food like others.
4.I will upload pdf again which will show the medication given to her .
But thx alot for valuable suggestion about ny health. I will definately try my best to improve it.

No need for your mother to go through so much trouble.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing back to me with further details about your mother's diet and treatment under ayurveda.
1. It is indeed sad to know that they are making her go through so much trouble even though they know very well that their treatments have no value and can not do any good.
Follow the diet as advised at the heart institute, no need to cut down on food excessively.
As I said earlier, she can eat everything, you should be careful only about the quantity and the amount of sugar and oil in her diet.
I am not saying no sugar at all, or no oil at all, I am just saying, reduce the amount in her diet, that is all.
Let her eat healthy full meals, to fill the stomach, you can add a lot of vegetables and green leaves, that way she will get very good nutrition at the same time amount of cholesterol forming sugar and oils will reduce and she will also feel full after every meal.
2. No need for such a stringent diet XXXXXXX just follow these rough guidelines I have provided, that is enough. She can eat normal food, with oil, but the quantity of oil should be less, it will be healthy for everyone.
3. Yes, I completely agree with you, if you just survive for the sake of surviving depriving all your senses, then that life is meaningless. Let her live as long as she lives happily (with a very few modifications in lifestyle and diet). If she continues her cholesterol lowering medicines and blood thinners, and other medicines as prescribed by the cardiologist, then she will be fine.
4. I have seen the attached pdf, please ask her to continue the same treatment, there is no need to change anything at this time.
My best wishes for your mother, you and rest of your family too.
Take care.
