Brief Answer:
Generally it won’t cause much problems.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Swallowing clumps of any hair is bound to cause features of intestinal obstruction like gagging, vomiting and constipation. It is because the clumped hair causing the blockage of bowel lumen. But in most of the cases the hairs get passed in the stool with out any problem.
As of now give him laxatives like lactulose and just observe. If he develops features of obstruction( gagging or vomiting), consult a general surgeon and get evaluated. In that case a CT scan may be required.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks
