My Son 11 Year Old, Has Some Behavioral Issues
1. When we go outing or vacation, like we went for XXXXXXX trip for 9 days, I could easily see him not enjoying and he is in his own world. This has happened many times, like when we go out for Mall, etc. His mood is not jolly many a times. Like some magic show was happening, and everyone was shouting, enjoying , but my son was with less or no expression.
2. Other problem seen is, when we go outing, he don't interact with strangers like waiter, housekeeping, security for getting small information like
"Where is the toilet around ?".
"Where can I get the water ?",etc.
He always want us to solve these basic things for him.
3. Also, he is less attached with parents. Meaning, I was admitted to hospital for 3 days and when I came 4th day back home, he did not even asked me where I was and what happened to me.
4. Many times he act without thinking. He don't put more thought
Kindly give few more details.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Few more details will help me to get a better idea:
1. Was his birth after completion of gestation, or premature birth?
2. What was his birth weight?
3. Did he attain common mile stones(like neck holding, crawling, sitting, standing, walking) as expected or was there any delay?
4. Was there any delay in attaining speech?
5. Any illnesses like seizure in the past?
6. Does he enjoys playing with friends, or prefer to play alone?
7. Is he hyperactive? means, not able to be seated for sometime, rather keeps on moving in and around?
8. Any complaints received from teachers regarding inattention in class room or dealing with friends?
9. How is his intelligence and school performance compared to peers?
I know the questions are elaborate and difficult, but this will help us move ahead
Thank you.
1. It was NOT premature. It was after completion of gestation
2. 3.3 KG
3. All things was as expected except the speech.
4. He started speaking after 2.5-3 yrs.
5. NO
6. He do enjoy playing with his friends.
7. YES. He cannot sit idle ..and he needs something to be done one after the other...He is hyperactive. Also we feel he don't have patience.
8. NO. Infact he is very good in school. But sometime, which ever things are complex to understand, he just skips and move to next. He don't put more effort to understand complex things, nor he thinks logically. May be patience is not their. I order magazine for him to read, but he hardly reads it. Again patience problem.
9. He play Piano nicely and he learnt by himself and I have enrolled him in proper music class. He is good their as well. Sometime his attitude is like, "He is Smart " and Overconfidence. If we as a parents try to tell him something good, he don't listen .
One important thing I have noticed is , he is not learning from surrounding environment.. Many a times we try to give him good advice, but he is careless about it and want to take his own routes. He is adamant.

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
Thank you for the details given.
Sorry for the delay- Being Monday, I was very busy
By going through the entire story, I found the following problems:
1. Hyperactivity(difficulty sitting calm)
2. Poor attention(skipping complex things)
3. Impulsivity(doing things without thinking/planing)
4. Social withdrawal(avoid interaction with others)
These symptom combination might suggest a diagnosis of ADHD(attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). But this need confirmation by a detailed psychologic assessment. Kindly take him to a CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST & PSYCHIATRIST.
Sometimes, these symptoms can be seen to some extent in normal children too. Psychologist can decide whether his symptoms warrants treatment or not. If confirmed, treatment is mainly PSYCHO-THERAPY, and sometime few drugs as decided by the PSYCHIATRIST.
I hope this answer will help you
Wishing you all good health
Take care
