Brief Answer:
An enema would be helpful...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern. It seems your son is having persistent constipation with fecal impaction, unresponsive to medication.

In this case, an enema would be the next step, however, considering the age, it should be done under medical supervision. If the enema doesn't work, the next step is manual breakage of the fecal impaction, also done by a medical professional.

Have your son drink plenty of fluids frequently and take Epson Salt which is a potent saline laxative. If he doesn't experience any relief I recommend you seek medical help.

It is important to identify the cause of constipation, whether it is due to lifestyle and diet or due to certain medications or a medical condition.

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
