Question: My son arrived at my house and within 30 minutes he broke out into a sweat, so much so he had to wipe his head with a towel. He then had painful tingling in the inside of his hand. He is 36 years old and said it didn't last but a few minutes. I asked him, but no chest pain, nothing going down the arm, no vomiting, just felt weird and that he wanted to lay down. Any immediate concern?

I would suggest the following examinations:
-a complete blood count
-glycemic level
-thyroid hormone level
-a urinalysis

Treatment depends on the cause.

If he develops a fever you can give an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen 400 mg. For the excessive sweating, you can use anticholinergic over the counter medications such as Benadryl once daily.
