Question: My son is 5 years old, on the thin side. He was sitting up watching TV with his head turned to left. I noticed a very strong pulse in his neck. Is this normal? I know it's normal when they are laying down but what about when they are sitting up?

Brief Answer:
It is quite common and nothing to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
What you see is jugular pulsation and in some individuals it is very superficial. Nothing much to worry and it is not suggestive of any disease condition.
It is quite normal irrespective of the body posture.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks
