Question: Hi, I need some advice. My son is a 21 year old heart patient and have problems in the past with his ejection fraction. He was born at 26 weeks with a Double Aortic Arch in 1999 at Children Hospital in XXXXXXX He had the Double Aortic Arch Repair Surgery in 1999. He also has asthma but no asthma attacks in many years. Otherwise, he appears to be healthy. He has a severe EGG Allergy and Griseofulvin. I'm trying to see if it is advisable and safe for him to take the coronavirus vaccine? If so, which one should he take? Mederna, XXXXXXX & XXXXXXX or Pfizer? Also should Motrin, Tylenol or Advil be taken in advance of the vaccination and if so, how far in advance or after injection? Is there anything he can do in advance to build his immune system in advance before the vaccination?

Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that there are no counterindication for Covid vaccine considering his past medical history.

In this regard, I would recommend taking Moderna Vaccine if possible, because it has less adverse effects compared to other vaccines and high efficacy.
Another safe vaccine would be Pfizer vaccine.

I would recommend taking online tylenol in case of adverse effects like fever, body pain after the vaccine, in order to avoid the compromise of his immune response (Motrin and Advil are not recommended for a week after the vaccine, unless tylenol does not work).

A healthy diet, rich in protein and vitamin and poor in fats or carbohydrates can help boost his immune response too.

Hope you will find this information helpful!
