My Throat Has Been Feeling Funny For About 2 Months

Question: My throat has been feeling funny for about 2 months and lately is worse. No pain. Feels swollen like it might close up completely and then I won’t be able to breath. The exact location is at the lowest part of my neck, for a span of about 2 inches from top to bottom, where I feel like my throat is closing up. I’m not struggling for air. My sinuses have been draining due to seasonal allergies, so I had thought that was the problem. But I am getting more uncomfortable. I find that if I take sips of cold water that will provide momentary relief. Otherwise healthy. This has affected my voice a little bit - like a very slight laryngitis.

I don't have a fever, I don't have a cough, and my throat is not sore. I have had some sinus pain off and on over the last 2 weeks, and drainage down my throat for months. My only complaint is slight laryngitis this swelling in my throat that seems to occur at random times during the day, lasting for an hour or so, and usually is a problem in the evenings. It is a disturbing feeling because it restricts airflow a little bit -- and I fear that if it gets worse, I could really have a problem breathing. The one thing that provides minimal relief is sipping cold water. I have made an appointment to consult with an ENT doctor, but that isn't until XXXXXXX 14th. In the meantime, I will take Claritin, stay well hydrated, and use a betadine gargle. -- Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for these details.

However, as per your history, it may be post nasal drip which may lead to throat infections.

Kindly do all measures as suggested in the previous answer. This will help you.

Let me know if I can assist you further...

Regards,
