My Throat Has Recently Become Sensitive To Spicy Food. Earlier
Question: My throat has recently become sensitive to spicy food. Earlier I was able to eat very spicy food without any problems. However for about a year now if I eat food that is a little highly spicy - like pepper chicken or spicy sambar (which i had no problem eating earlier), I feel that the inside of my throat burns while I swallow - especially around the "throat pit". Earlier my food pipe also used to burn when I eat spicy food - for this I had some proton pump inhibitors (Deltone 60 mg) for a month and that is not happening now. Other medications I take include Acitrom 4 mg everyday - this anticoagulant i have to take for life since I have had multiple DVTs

Detailed Answer:
Hii. This throat pain is due to acid reflux which is regurgitation of acid from the stomach. You can start Esmoperazole tablet before food. Avoid spicy food. Drink plenty of water. Sleep after 2 hours of dinner. Don't wear tight clothes during sleep. Take frequent meals instead of having heavy meals at lunch and dinner. If possible consult an ENT surgeon and gastroenterologist and do an endoscopy to see the throat and the food pipe. Please review if you have any queries.

Thank you doctor. I used to have acid reflux, where even my chest used to burn, but after taking the Diaone medicine, it happened just once about a week back when I had beer for two-three days. I took one pandadoc and then it stopped. But throat buring still continues if i have spicy food - sometimes even mildly spicy. It also is sensitive to hot beverages like tea or even hot rice sometimes.
Also - if I take anticoagulant for long, does it affect the thickness of external skin or internal skin? I mean will it become more senssitve to spices, heat, etc. or easily bruised?

So for example, I have an office party in the next two months where I may have beer. If I start havnig acid reflux, can I take Pantadoc (or any other tablet)?
