Brief Answer:
Regarding excessive hair shedding
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Acute severe increase in hair fall is known as Telogen effluvium wherein a precipitating event like illness, pregnancy, delivery, weight loss etc could be underlying. Sometimes nutritional factors like low hemoglobin, serum ferritin levels, low vitamin D levels could also induce excessive hair fall. I suggest her to do baseline tests like CBC, Serum iron studies, serum vit D and vit B12 levels. She may take an oral iron supplement if hr serum ferritin is below 40ng/dl. similarly vitamin D and B 12 supplement may be added if found deficient. She may start using Folica hair tincture on her scalp every alternate night. It should be applied with a dropper directly on to the scalp skin. Not on hair.
