My Wife Has Food Poisoning Right Now From Bad Chicken.

Question: My wife has food poisoning right now from bad chicken. She's been vomiting all day (15 straight), although it's becoming less frequent. She's drinking water and Gatorade to try and keep hydrated, but she vomits both up soon after drinking. She is now complaining of intense abdominal pains, that are made better if she lies down flat. As there is nothing in her stomach and it is hurting, is it a good idea to try and eat something basic (applesauce or crackers for example)? Any other recommendations?

15 hours straight*
Brief Answer:
Any watery stools? How is here urnation?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about the food poisoning your wife has suffered. Truth is that main management is supportive: Controlling vomiting, eating and staying hydrated. We generally encourage that patients eat small quantities at frequent intervals. If she is however unable to keep anything down and continue losing fluids, then she may need to go to the hospital.
For now, I will recommend she gets another dose of prochlorperazine to control vomiting, frequent fluids(gatorade) in small volumes. She can also eat applesauce/crackers as tolerated. Let know how this goes and also let me know if she is urinating well or not.
I wish your wife a quick recovery. Feel free to request for more details as deemed appropriate.
