Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your wife.
The pain in the left lower abdomen can not be due to gastritis as gastric pain i in upper abdomen.

What is her age?
Any changes in stool/bowel habits?

Sure. Her age is 30 and she is having hard stools (little constipation). She did get a lump in both of her armpits last week that lasted for a couple of days.
No urine complaints or pain in back/groin area as such.
The pain is there in the lower left area(near the hip)

The commonest reasons for left lower abdominal pain in a woman of 30 can be one of the following:
- Colitis - can be due to IBS, constipation, diverticulum (rare in India)
- Left ureteric problem like stone, obstruction.
- Left ovary or Fallopian tube problem.
- Hernia - rare in females.
- Some muscle spasm or so.
Some of the problems can be diagnosed by the following ways:
- X-ray of abdomen in standing and lying position.
- Ultrasound of abdomen and if any findings then confirmation by CT scan of abdomen.
- An actual physical examination of abdomen, preferably by a General Surgeon.
- Tests of stool, urine and blood.
Give a trial: Fabolite = Isabgol Husk powder = 1 teaspoon in a glass of water to be started after dinner with additional one more glass of water. This will help to relieve constipation. May need to adjust/increase the dose as the requirement of every person is different. If the constipation is relieved and the pain goes then continue. Add fibrous food to diet like green leafy vegetables, ladies finger ( Bhindi), identify the foods that cause constipation, pain and stop these altogether.
Please try this and let me know the effects.
