My Wife Is 8 Weeks Pregnant. She Has PCOD Since

As last period date was 23 September and as per sonography report the conception date is 25th October. She is 24 Years old and she’ll be 25 in coming February. Im 29 year old.
We were going to plan pregnancy in November 2019, but we took a chance this year since we were convinced that it would take us time due to PCOD. We didn’t expect but surprisingly she got pregnant in October.
We did blood test as advised and everything came out normal. B12 and vit D3 were deficient.
Following are my questions:
1. Is 24 biologically right age to conceive? Since most of her friends are still doing jobs and pursuing career. I’m a little confused since we have planned to carry the child. And is it a right age to conceive for her medical condition.
2. What is the right age to get pregnant?
3. What are the chance of normal delivery?
4. How will pregnancy affect her physically and mentally?
5. Is it difficult to conceive with PCOD? Explain why?

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting us about your healthcare.
I have gone through your history and understand your concern.
As she is 24 years old she can continue her pregnancy.
Right age to conceive is 20-28years.
As such she is not facing any problem due to pregnancy if she follow the advice given by your treating doctor.
There is almost 99% chance of normal delivery if she follow the advice and keep her active during pregnancy.
She should take lots of vegetables and fruits and drink a lot of water and high protein diet.
Do some yoga and meditation and walking.
In PCOD/PCOS due to hormonal imbalance caused by PCOD, it is difficult to conceive because ovulation is also not proper.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck
Regards

My wife is also taking Ayurvedic medicine and she has been prescribed Ecosprin by gynac.
Since is had PCOD we took a change early and surprisingly she got pregnant soon.
And her periods had started very soon when she was 13 year old.
following are my questions:
1. Is it safe to take ecosprin medicine. what are the side effects of taking that medicine since Ayurvedic doctor has advised against it?
2. If we waited for another year would it be difficult for her to conceive given the history of PCOS.
3. Does fertility reduce early if periods have started at an early age?
4. Is 24 too early for pregnancy?
5. Can we travel if she wishes to and if yes, until which month of pregnancy can we travel?
6. Will PCOD cure after her pregnancy?

Hello dear,
Sorry for the delay in my response.
Acne in PCOD due to hormonal imbalance,so it may get clear during pregnancy, she can have high protein diet with lots of vegetables and fruits and drink a lot of water, to maintain oil on face.
She should avoid smoking, drinking (if at all do) and junk and outside food.
As such complications are not there due to PCOD but if she is overweight chances of c-section and early delivery are more.
Yes, you can take metformin to maintain sugar during pregnancy if more due to hormonal imbalance caused by PCOD.
You should go for a second level ultrasound during the second trimester.
You can have a sexual relationship during pregnancy but only with the condom to prevent any infection to the baby.
Nobody can give a guarantee of normal or C-section but yes, normal physical activity and if rest of the things normal, you can go for normal delivery.
In percentage, I can not say but yes, due to ovulation and follicular issue in PCOD may cause difficulty in conceiving.
Hope I have answered all your questions to some extent.
Good luck

Hello dear,
Sorry for the delay in my response.
Ultrasound is usually confirmatory in diagnosing exact age of foetus in early stage of pregnancy.
One can of beer and travelling will not affect baby,if everything is fine in her 7 weeks ultrasound.
But you should be careful in future.
