My Wife Is Being Treated For Bladder Cancer With Chemo.

Question: My wife is being treated for bladder cancer with chemo. This chemo is a "lighter version" because she is a kidney recipiant. The last two ct scans have shown no increase in size and no movement of the tumors, although these ct scans have been done with no contrast dyes. Lately she has had trouble breathing and this condition seems to be getting worse. Any ideas? Thank you,
Al

Brief Answer:
Need to get done CT thorax and PFT.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on 'Ask A Doctor' forum.
I can understand your concern.
There are two main possibilities in her case for her worsening breathing difficulty:
1. Bronchitis
2. Lung metastases or pleural effusion.
So better to get done:
1. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
2. CT thorax to rule out lung metastases and pleural effusion.
Please let me know:
1. Was she a smoker?
2. Has she ever undergo these tests? If yes, please share the details.
Please let know the answers of above-asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing your wife a good health.
Thanks.
