Question: My wife is five months pregnant, her SGOT level is 94/ml and SGPT is 87/ml, she is little itching problem, please advise.

Mild rise in levels of liver enzymes during pregnancy is normal . This can cause mild itching during pregnancy . If the itching is mild then there is nothing to worry . Using calamine lotion can help in reducing itching .
The raised enzyme levels are likely to come back to normal after delivery .
You can get the repeat test done after four weeks and in case the levels are increasing then get some hepatoprotective medicine prescribed by the gynacologist .
