Question: New; happens when outside in bright light Mostly; the retinal repair surgery was laser treatment to seal tears and thinning areas.

Black spot in center vision that’s last seconds to less than 5 min. Happens in light and moves with eye and not a floater. MRI is normal and so are eye inspections. Gotten more frequent with retinal repair surgery. Only appears on one eye at a time. Happens multiple times an hour.
What should I do if doctors are stumped?

Thanking you in advance (accidentally closed the question)

Brief Answer:
It could be a new retinal tear

Detailed Answer:
hey thank you for the question . A retinal laser is definitely the treatment to seal retinal tears but it can cause a thinning of the vitreous , which is the gel in front of the retina . Once this gel is thinned it can be seen in front of the eye as a moving shadow . If the symptom really persists for a long time i would advise you to ask for a repeat retinal examination because some times this could mean a new retinal tear is forming or retina is detaching from some point. If retinal examination is normal you may get adjusted to this with time , if not we can plan a vitrectomy ( a surgery to remove vitreous ) if you see many shadows in front of your eyes . hope it helps . get well soon .
