Question: Nine weeks ago, I had surgery on a Trimolleolar fracture of my left ankle. I am still unable to put weight on the ankle. I am a 68 year old female in good health; osseous mineralization within normal range.
Does this seem normal to you? I had hoped to be walking a bit by now.

Usually after 6 to 8 weeks, cast is removed and advice physiotherapy. It helps in better and fast recovery. So I would suggest you to start and continue physiotherapy as per consulting orthopedician's opinion.

At start, he may advice walking with support/walker. Don't give much pressure on leg, as it may delay healing process. So kindly strictly follow orthopedician's instructions.
