Noticed Change In Skin Color After Cortisone Shot. Is This Normal?
Question: I had a cortisone shot in my neck today approximately 6 hrs ago. My wife told me that I was pale and looked in the mirror at my face and she is correct. Is this a normal side effect of a cortisone shot???
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
It is normal. The drug causes the skin to lose the fat underneath so it looks sunken and the drug actually bleaches out the skin.
It will come back to normal with time.
