Dose of ofloxacin is 10-15 mg/kg/day. Oflamac m Fort contains 100 mg of ofloxacin and 200 mg of Metronidazole per 5 ml of syrup.
For 17 kgs boy 6 ml of syrup twice a day is sufficient.
Giving probiotics like Enterogermina or other saccharomyces/lactobacillus will also help. Zinc syrup 20 mg/day helps in early recovery.
Give plenty of fluids/ORS to watch to avoid dehydration. Watch for urine output and oral intake. If oral intake is poor, urinary frequency is less or stool is mixed with blood please consult your pediatrician.
