Gastritis or side effects of medications is likely- advises given
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,
I carefully read your query and here is my advise.
Medications may cause nausea and stomach irritation. If you have started a new medication recently or you have these symptoms for more than 10 days, it may be due to medications and it would be helpful if you let us know the names of the medications you use.
If your symptoms are for less than 10 days, a self-limited condition such as a viral gastritis is considered first. In this case taking some antiemetics such as metoclopramide 10 mg three times a day and Omeprazole 20 mg 30 minutes before breakfast is recommended.
Meanwhile, try to eat frequent small amounts of food during the day to reduce nausea (it is best to have 5 small meals than 2-3 big ones during times of nausea).
If your symptoms do not get better in 3-4 days or get any worse or is important to seak medical attention again
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case any further medical assistance is needed.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj. General and Family Physician
