Question: Ok the past few days I keep getting bad pain in my left leg. I don't want to say it's in the calf because it really is in the front and feels like it's in the bone. It's a stabbing pain at first and then slowly goes away. I am a 64 year old female. Do you have any answers for me?

Brief Answer:
A pinched nerve to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

Seems like a pinched nerve that is causing your symptoms.

The nerve may be compressed, irritated at the exit from the spine (herniation, bone spur) or during its pathway (tunnel syndrome).

A nerve conduction study may give valuable information for the diagnosis and the treatment ways.

Discuss with your Doctor for these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
