On February 15 & 16 I Had Laryngitis; When This

Question: On February 15 & 16 I had laryngitis; when this disappeared a persistent dry cough followed. That disappeared but then a very sore throat began on the right side of my throat, and my tongue felt a bit swollen. It lasted about a week; it was relatively mild and I treated it with chloraseptic spray, tea & honey, and ibuprofen. Now that same soreness has moved to the other side (left side) of my mouth. It's very painful to swallow. The chloraseptic helps temporarily. Do you think I should have a strep culture? I'm still "out and about," not abed. Thank you for your response.
Brief Answer:
Throat culture is needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think you may need to be visited by a doctor and he will shine a light in your throat to see tonsils. Possibly you need to do even a throat culture.
It will determine if you need antibiotics or not.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
