Brief Answer:
Hidradenitis suppurativa and intertrigo
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Hidradenitis suppurativa is an inflammatory condition characterized by recurrent, painful nodules/ boils in apocrine glands bearing skin such as axilla, groin, buttocks etc. These boils may discharge.
In later stages, the affected sites affected by repeated inflammation may develop scarring along with the formation of sinuses and tracts. Whereas intertrigo is simply inflammation of skin surfaces, usually a fold, due to trapping of sweat/moisture and friction against each other.
Intertrigo commonly affects body folds, for example, groins, axilla, submammary folds etc.
Please note, there are no boils or discharging sinuses in intertrigo.
Hope I have answered your query.

Thank you for your time and answers.
If you were able to read the initial note/query to the first doctor, and knowing the possible diagnosis, please help understanding with the following:
1) HYDROCORTISONE Cream usp - 2% PRESCRIBED
2) CLOTRIMAZOLE CREAM usp - 1% prescribed
Husband has always been vulnerable to having the boils underarm - both arms.
Uncomfortable raising of pustules with great amount of pus when finally broken/sometimes had to have them lanced by doctor.
He saw the dermatologist on March 25/this week - no sign of boils just scars.
THIS MORNING, HE HAS 2 BOILS ALREADY RAISED TO SLIGHT PROTRUSION OF SKIN UNDERARM. Not noticeable before bedtime but raised overnight ( 6 hours.)
Given that it was his birthday yesterday on March 26th, he ate cake with icing/ice cream.
In eating deep fried fish at the restaurant, I am going to venture to say that the breaded, deep-fried fish may have brought on the boils...and the stress of 5 doctors appointments in 2 days. (dermatologist, heart, colon, general health doctor, and eye).
STRESS AND CARBS AND GREASE. Please confirm.
ALSO, WILL EITHER OF THE TWO PRESCRIBED PRESCRIPTIONS CREAMS IF PLACED ON THE PRESENT BOILS ARISING AID IN DEPLETING THEM OF THE PUS AND FUTURE RAISING ...OR NOT? I know that warm compresses placed on top of the boils need to be applied tonight as soon as possible.
ALSO, PLEASE DEFINE: Essential (PRIMARY) hypertension
(I think it is high blood pressure?)
DEFINE: Hyperlipidemia, unspecified
My mom and sister are both nurses. I hear some of the medical terms discussed. I appreciate confirmation. Thank you!

It might be best to inform you that I understand that a change in my husband's nutritional diet is necessary. For myself, I work on not eating fried and/or breaded foods and work to exercise daily and stay away from excessive carbohydrates as much as possible. My husband is looking to me to guide his new pattern of eating to loose weight.
He cannot eat ripe fruit without vomiting. In experimenting with him, I find that he can eat a bit or two of several fruits when they are slightly "not ripe" such as green grapes, black raspberries or Italian plumbs. He does not vomit. If there is any amount of ripening/fructose present, he vomits within a minute of eating the fruit.
….I can't say that he likes a lot of vegetables. Any thoughts on how I can approach his plan for losing weight given these above facts?

Brief Answer:
Regarding boils
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I apologize for delay.
For boils I would suggest a course of an Oral antibiotic e.g either Amoxycilline or Cephalexin 500mg , thrice daily for a week. The creams that were suggested earlier are not advisable on boils. They may have been earlier prescribed for Intertrigo. You may rather use an OTC topical antibiotic e.g either Neosporin ointment or Mupirocin ointment, twice daily.
Yes, a high calorie diet and high BMI, may play a role in recurrent boils.
As far as the diet for weight is concerned, I suggest you to kindly talk to a dietician.
Regards
Take care
