Question: On a recent CT (1-14-19) of pulmonary (lungs)
Results were linear bandlike pulmonary
opacities;scattered foci of linear opacities
subsegmental atelectasis. Trace right
pleural effusion. What does all means
regarding my lungs. No result of pneumonia
noted.

I have gone through the CT report you have mentioned.
This CT picture is commonly seen with sequel of lung infection.
It is also seen with smokers.
Atelectesis is partial collapse of part of lung and it is commonly seen with retained secretions.
So please let me know
1. Do you smoke?
2. Do you have history of pneumonia?

No I never smoked. Just second-hand smoke.
I have had pneumonia once three years ago.
And bronchitis once prior to this time three
years ago. This recent CT revealed no
Pneumonia but test results stated I had
the Human Metapneumovirus ( which I do
not know anything about).and Bronchitis.
One question ... How long does virus last?
