
On Medication, Rosuvas 10, Concor Am 5, Normal Bp. Advice For Alternate Lifestyle Without Any Medication?

I am XXXXXXX taking medicine rosuvas 10(1/2 at night) and concor am 5 (1/2 morning and half night) my bp is 120/80 , my age 41 height 5' 7" , weight 48 , my father having to stunts since last 8 yrs, my mother is totally fit.
Kindly advise how to live a healthy life without taking these medicines.

I understand and am glad about your decision to lead a healthy life without medications.
Currently you are on treatment with medications for cholesterol (Rosuvas) and Hypertension ( Concor). Before you can stop the medications a few things need to be analysed. Since the Blood pressure is controlled with the medications, you cannot stop them at one go.
First of all you need to monitor your BP recordings continuously for a week 3 to 4 times a day. If they are normal then the decision to reduce the dose or to stop them can be taken. But for your benefit of promoting your health, a low dose of the medication should be continued as it would be protective to the heart.
In addition a complete analysis and blood work should be done including thyroid, Lipid profile, glucose levels, liver and kidney function tests. Once the tests have been done, based on the results the decision to stop your cholesterol medications can be done.
But the point that your father has 2 stents placed in his heart indicates that you may be having a family predisposition to cardiac disease. Keeping this in view taking the medications to control the BP and Cholesterol will be very essential.
The best way to reducing body fats and cholesterol, includes a combination of dietary restrictions, physical workouts (aerobic exercises are more better in burning fat, than just walking), screening for any medical conditions like diabetes, endocrine disorders, etc.
Here are some Dietary modifications for a healthy cholesterol levels include:
1. First and foremost drink plenty of water.
2. A diet XXXXXXX in water soluble fibers (found in fruits and vegetables).
The inclusion of at least 3-4 servings of vegetables a day and two to four servings of fruit each day is a must. Include fruits like - Dried fruits (dates, apricots, prunes, raisins); raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, and oranges. Include more of vegetables like beans, corn, and broccoli.

6. Citrus fruit with amino acid, vitamin C, folic acid and soluble fiber such as strawberries, currants, and grapes also help to reduce LDL cholesterol level.
Other strategies that can help reduce cholesterol levels include:
1. Quit smoking (if you do)
2. Start a regular exercise program
3. Maintain a healthy weight.
