Question: On rare occasions, maybe four times in eight months, while eating breakfast my face feels hot and flushed, I feel faint and then I get nauseous. I am diabetic. One time when this happened I checked my blood sugar and blood pressure. They were normal. It passes in 20 to 30 minutes, but after the episode, I am tired and take a nap.

Brief Answer:
Reactive hypoglycaemia possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think this episode is related to reactive hypoglycaemia that often happens to diabetic persons.
The glucose levels become very low due to immediate release of insulin in blood. Usually thus happens after a high carbohydrates meal with elevated glycemic index food.
It doesn't need any special treatment.
Just keep diabetes under control.
Try to avoid high glycemic index foods, pure carbohydrates etc
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
