Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.
I have read your query and here is my advice.
Romberg test evaluates the propriocepsion of the patient ( i.e the position of the joints).
Spastic finger to nose test in one side indicates that there is a problem with coordination and muscles tone.
The problem may be at the cervical cord or in one hemisphere of the cerebellum.
Further evaluation with MRI is necessary for a correct diagnosis.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Is that the same reason for the balance issues, when walking heel to heel and feet together with hands side to side? Someone whose palms turn inward when they close their eyes holding them out in front.
Brief Answer:
These tests also assess the proprioception and coordination.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
These tests also assess the proprioception and coordination, so the reason to perform these tests is to evaluate if there is a problem with the neural structures involved.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to discuss with me if you have further questions.

Would a pineal cyst or lacunar infarction cause any of this ? When my palm turns inward when holding arms out flat and I close my eyes ,my left arm turns in. My left leg also turns in .

Pineal cyst does not cause such signs.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Pineal cyst doesn't cause such results in these tests, lacunar infarction may relate with such findings if located in cerebellum.
Hope this helps.
