Question: I'm male 88, taking 50mg Metrolol, 1/2 in morning, whole in evening. My waking BP is 115/59 before medication.
I exercise at a silver sneaker YMCA and use various apparatus in my house. I am overweight BMI 27

Hi
Thanks for the query
The blood pressure levels you have mentioned are normal but a bit lower diastolic value. I don't know as you haven't explained why did you started taking this medication either you were diagnosed as hypertensive patient or had some cardiac problem like angina.
I would suggest you to visit your doctor who prescribed you this medicine to check your current blood pressure status as in my opinion you do not need to take this medicine if you are having the mentioned blood pressure levels before taking medication
Thanks
