Pain In Index Finger, Elbow, Shoulder And Wrist, May Be Repetitive Strain Injury. Is It Safe To Use Hand Gripper For Muscle Strength?

Question: Feeling pain in index finger, elbow, shoulder and wrist...I believe this is called RSI (Repititive Strain Injury). I want to know, if its safe to use hand gripper for muscle strength?
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain you are having has been diagnosed as thoracic outlet syndrome by your orthopedician after examination. It involves compression of the nerve roots causing the pain.
Using a hand gripper will not affect the problem. You can continue using it in moderation. This will definitely help in enhancing the muscle strength.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Neurosurgeon will be the best person to consult in your case.
You can join a gym but be sure to do the exercises under the care of a trainer and do it in moderation.
Hope my answer is helpful.
