No Improvement in neck pain at all, currently using hard collar to support the neck. Reports attached . Also we see the urine output has reduced a little and it takes few seconds to wait and stop and pass urine. I want to understand if this is related to any nephro problem and if yes , what all tests can i do to rule out and help me understand the co relation between the c6 c7 disc prolapse as per my report and the nephro problem
Kindly advice if this rquires surgery and if yes please explain in detail what kind of surgery and what are the chances of Success and what can go wrong
Genitourinary tract to be examined further.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.
I have read your query, I saw the MRI report too.
Regaining the report, there are cervical spine degerative changes, but not severe.
There is no myelomalacia to justify any urination problems.
So, there is need to evaluate a possible genitourinary tract problems for the urination problems.
Urinalysis, ultrasound of the genitourinary tract and kidneys, blood tests for the kidneys function, urine flow test, are necessary.
The surgery may be indicated for the pain symptoms and in such case, ACDF (anterior cervical discectomy and fusion) seems more appropriate approach (success rate around 90%).
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
