Brief Answer:
The risk of getting HIV is very unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Dear,

Welcome to Ask a Specialist Service.

You have protected intercourse with a call girl and the condom slipped inside her then the risk of getting HIV is very unlikely because the status of call girl is unknown and the exposure is also not risky so don't get worried or tensed. As your friend, I will also advice you to stay away from such unsafe sexual practices to prevent the future risk of HIV or other STDs. Be relaxed, allay the fear or anxiety and move on in life. If you have any further query feel free to ask me again any time.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
The risk in case of single exposure is very negligible.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

The chance of getting HIV from single exposure as mentioned by you is very negligible and the status of your partner is also unknown which further reduces the risk so don't get worried too much. Just calm down, forget the episode and live your life normally.

Thank You

Dear Dr.

I had this question bugging me since many days. My question is

1. What are the chances of getting HIV if you have Single unprotected vaginal intercourse with a HIV + female for only once ( single exposure, first time in life) .

2.When does the initial symptoms of HIV occur after the exposure ( after how many days does the symptom show up)

Kindly let me know Dr. as these questions are giving me sleepless nights

Brief Answer:
The risk of exposure from single unprotected vaginal sex is very unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

The chances of getting HIV from single unprotected vaginal intercourse with positive HIV partner is very less (1-2% only) but the status of the partner is unknown in your case which further reduces the risk so don't take too much stress or tension. The symptoms of acute retro-viral syndrome will appear within two weeks of infection. Be relaxed, allay the fear or anxiety and move on in life happily.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
The symptoms are similar of any other viral illness.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome to Ask a Specialist Service again.

The symptoms of acute retro viral syndrome are similar to other common viral illness like headache, body-ache, diarrhea, weakness, nausea. The risk in your exposure is very unlikely so again I will advice not to think too much about HIV. Be relaxed, forget the episode and live your life happily.

Thank You

Thank you so much for your valuable response Dr. Just one final question, i read in internet that Swollen Lymph Node is also one of the symptom in acute retro viral syndrome , if yes can we have only swollen lymph node without any other symptoms ( like fever , nausea, diarrhoea, rashes etc), just curious to know

Kindly let me know
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sunil Jangid (21 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Only swollen lymph node can be present due to other causes also.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

Swollen lymph node can be a symptom of acute retro-viral syndrome but it is not a peculiar symptom of HIV because it can usually be there due to any chronic infection (bacterial or viral) or any allergic condition also. I will also suggest to consult your physician regarding any health related queries rather than searching on internet so give rest to your mind, avoid thinking too much and live happily.

Thank You
