Please Advise Medication For Acute Muscle And Nerve Pain

Question: Thank you for answering my questions. I am asking about Statens. In the past several months I have had nerve blocks and ablations on my knee ( damage from replacement) and on both sides of my back (lumbar). My cholesterol numbers have been fine until this year. Now in moderate danger zone. Statens recommended but as I understand it they cause muscle pain, dizziness. I feel utterly flattened. Lack of balance and acute muscle and nerve pain are what the rigorous process over the last 6 months were supposed to alieve. Please advise on the side effects. Thank you, Maryanne

HI,
What you know about side effects of statin drugs is true.But please understand, they do not occur from start of the drug treatment.Most of patients can take them safely for several months without having the side effects you are scared of.
There are many alternatives to lower cholesterol..but they do not claim to prevent cardiac problems or strokes..
So I would suggest to start the statins while you are under your treating physicians care & side by side start to adopt natural majors to lessen cholesterol levels in blood..they are slow to give benifit but sure &safe way to maintain cholesterol levels in normal range.You can continue with statins &these natural majors to start with &then gradually tapper the statins down (as the reports come down to normal)&continue with natural means or life style changes for maintainance.
