Please Help Me Evaluate My Chances Of Getting Pregnant
Question: Hi dr, i am 31 years of age and i am trying to conceive. I had an abortion performed on me more than 10years ago. Previously i used IUD as birth control which i removed a month ago. I had my period on the 22nd of October and ended on the 26th. I had sex with my boyfriend today and i am trying to calculate my chances of conception during this cycle. Please help me evaluate my chances of getting pregnant and what is the best time for me to have sex. I see my boyfriend once every week because we work in separate districts. Thanks.

Ovulation usually happens around the 14 day of the cycle. Depending on the duration of the cycles there could be a few days delay or occur a bit early. It is recommended to be sexually active from the 10th day to 20th day of the cycle for best results.
The chances of pregnancy after IUD removal are higher than usual. This cannot be quantified. You may have to patiently wait for the conception. There is no need for any sort of supplementation for next 6 months.
You can check ovulation using Ovulation test kits, these can give a faily good idea about whether or not ovulation has occurred after which you can plan the intercourse.
