I have gone carefully through your concern.
If left untreated, hypothyrodisim at children may have severe effects in the future; mental disability, short stature, delayed puberty etc. Of course the severity of the symptoms will depend on how the severity of hypothyroidism.
In some casea you can notice a lower IQ than his/ her peers, or a dry skin, weight gain.
Fortunately, hypothyroidism when diagnosed can be esily treated. But it is very important to keep monitoring the dose in order to be sure that he/ she is taking the right one.
