Once the hypothyroidism is corrected in children, usually there will be no effects expected in future.

In case the hypothyroidism was uncorrected for longtime, some complications like
Stunted growth
Poor intellect or mental retardation
Poor dentition
Muscle weakness
Coarse facial features

May remain for life.

These mostly are musculoskeletal complications, unlike in adults complications related to heart and other organs are rare.
