Please Review Attached Reports And Advise Whether Hospitalization Is Necessary For My Baby?
Please review attached reports and advise whether hospitalization is necessary. Baby jerked in sleep few times but no fever looks normal playing.
Reports seems fine
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
It is normal for babies to jerk occasionally- this is called "Jitteriness" .
If this was not associated with unrolling of eyes or unusual drowsiness, and we are able to stop the jerks on restraining, this is unlikely to be seizure, and no need of admission.
Anyhow, next time when this happens, take a video recording of the event and upload here, so that I can get a more clear idea.
Reports seems almost normal, except for marginally high BILIRUBIN values. This we can repeat after 24 hours to see the trend.
If you feel baby's palms and soles are yellow stained(jaundiced), this may need admission for phototherapy. Actually, i need baby's and mothers blood groups too to comment on significance of this bilirubin value.
I hope this answer will help.

Mother's blood group is O Negative and baby's A Positive.... we already admitted yesterday 8PM for phototherapy. From Today morning baby frequently started jerking movement but only when we touch him while he sleeps. No jerking while awake. Will upload video in next thread...
I dont think its seizure
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
I have gone through two videos- first one showing jitteriness and second one showing startle. Both these are normal and benign in new born babies. If there is no fever, baby is active/playful and feeding well, nothing to worry
As there is blood group incompatibility between mother and baby, it is better to give phototherapy with this bilirubin level which you have already started
