Question: This is related to wife's pregnancy:
As per LMP Expected delivery date is March 13 and as per scan EDD would be March 20. We consulted doctor on March 02 and Doctor told baby head still not turned down, asked us to come on 12th March for the next chekc up. She is going for walk daily for about 30 mns. We would like know when can we expect baby head to turn down ? Is this normal ?

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Let me answer your query one by one.
1. We would like know when can we expect baby head to turn down ? In fisrt pregnancy, head descends down 2-4 weeks before expected date of delivery. If it is second pregnancy, then head descends down with the onset of labour pains. You can expect head to descend in another 1 week if its first pregnancy.
2. Is this normal ? It is completely normal for head not to descend at 37th week.
Even in 10% of normal pregnant women, head goes down with the onset of labor.
So she need not worry.
Is this your wife's first or second pregnancy?
What is her height?
Waiting for the reply,
regards,
Dr Nilofer
