1. How did you select this occupation?
I always wanted to be a physician since i was a young boy. I saw my physician as tremendously knowledgeable and I admired him greatly. I was in awe of his ability to answer any health concern.
2. What are your educational requirements?
12 years of school prior to college
4 years of college
4 years of medical school
8 years of professional residency training
3. What are your opportunities for advancement?
Depends on level of education but largely motivated by personal preference. There really are no limits in this sense.
4. What do you like about your job?
Relating with patients. Building trust and friendship in people who I see regularly. Also medicine is constantly advancing and I enjoy the continued educational aspect of the field.
5. What hours do you work, and do you have control of your schedule?
5:30 AM to 5PM I work for a physician firm and am a junior member so my hours are scheduled by XXXXXXX physicians.
6. Do you have job security?
Yes. I know I will always have employment.
7. Are you satisfied with the salary you receive?
I am. The only problem is that I have student loans totaling 202,000 dollars and that takes 30 percent of my income to just pay the monthly loan XXXXXXX
8. Is your job structured, or is there flexibility?
Structured but I can appeal for reasonable flexibility.
9. Do you feel that you are respected in your position?
Yes for the most part.
10. What are your major responsibilities?
To care for sick patients in the hospital unit and then report to clinic where I see 25 to 30 patients per day and care for routine issues and health maintenance.
