Rabies Vaccine Required If That Dogs Saliva On The Floor Or Road Came In Contact With Feet ?

Question: Respected sir, We were on a vacation tour to Vizag(Andhra Pradesh). we saw a dog was wondering here and there and pouring excess saliva in Simhachalam temple area. Though we didn't have any direct contact with that dog we came back from that area quickly and we were in barefoot(as it was temple area, we had kept our footwears in the car). My wife was having winter cracks on her feet. If that dogs saliva on the floor or road came in contact with her feet then does she require Rabies vaccine???? We are unable to remember whether her feet cracks were having wound or bleeding at that time or not. Sir, does rabies be transmitted by such way ?

No

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

This is an unusual way of rabies to spread. I do not think there is risk of rabies in the scenario.

There is no. need for vaccination here.
