Rash On The Tip Of Penis. Can I Use Hydrocortisone In The Infected Area?
Question: I've got what I believe to be a friction induced rash on the tip of my penis. My wife has some 2.5% hydrocortisone, can I pally it to the infected area?
Brief Answer:
No, dont use hydrocortisone
Detailed Answer:
Hi, Thanks for using XXXXXXX
2.5% hydrocortisone is a steroid and should not be applied to infected area and also to the open wound. It is used for conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, or psoriasis.
For my patients with friction induced rash I advice to clean with running water, dry with cotton cloth and to apply betadine lotion to prevent any infection. So I advice the same to you.
