Question: My wife has had ongoing problems with what we were told was a large gallstone in her gallbladder . The gallbladder was removed by surgery several months ago, however she still is getting pains on her left side just under the lower rib cage. When this happens usually after eating something she feels nauseous and usually throws up. This is mostly a clear phlegm like substance. But it does not occur all the time. What are your thoughts on this? The doctors here can't seem to figure it out.
Brief Answer:
Probably she is suffering from GERD.

According to history your wife is probably suffering from GERD(Gastro esophageal reflux disease) .
She need proper clinical examination and investigations.
She need few investigations like routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,RFT,Lipid profile, ultrasound of abdomen, upper GI endoscopy.Further investigations can be done if needed.
Upper GI endoscopy is very helpful in her diagnosis.
She can take combination of tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg and domperidone 10 mg twice daily half hour before food for six weeks.
She should avoid hot and spicy food.
She should take her meals at regular intervals.
Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your question.
Further queries are most welcome.
