Recently I Have Been Having Tightness In My Chest Followed

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Jun 2020
Question: Recently I have been having tightness in my chest followed by pressure and nervousness. I went to the ER bad and EKG, and bloodwork done and they came back all good. It comes on out of no where and I feel the extreme need to belch. Usually it lasts for about 90 min. I have been diagnosed with U.C. In my 20’s and have had periods of extended remission. Could it be a related thing to the colitis given I have little to no other symptoms such as blood in the stool or frequent bowel movements. It’s been happening on and off for a week

Brief Answer:
This is not related to UC(Ulcerative colitis)

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms you have reported. These are definitely not related to UC. These are more suggestive of anxiety/panic attacks. If this persists, you would need to be managed for this condition. A normal blood work rules out any UC flares in the context of no symptoms. With a normal EKG, the heart is certainly good and needs no specific attention at this time.

I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
