Brief Answer:
It is a usual finding in pneumonia,no worries

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in Ask the Doctor

I can understand your concern

Usually in lower airway infection (bronchitis) and pneumonia also we have as a symptom in our patients sputum with blood
Sometimes it more blood sometimes it is more phlegm . It might be red or brown in some other cases.
It is nearly a normal finding caused as a result of the inflammation of the mucous of the airways or the lung tissue.
Now you are recovering from pneumonia which means that the process of healing is continuing and not finished yet. The most important thing is that the blood with the passing days should be less and the colour of sputum should be clearing . I don't think you should be concerned.

Just be careful these 2-3 weeks after the treatment until you recover completely.

Hope to have been helpful

Thank you. Is it weird that it is only the morning that I see it? It is consistently every morning. Also, i have intermittent asthma and i have a constant cough.

Brief Answer:
In the morning the secretions are more in quantity

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

No it's not weird that it happens mainly in the morning because in the morning the secretions collected during all the night should be expelled and the mucouses are more fragile and the vessels broken easily and especially in an asthmatic patients instead.

So it should be more rare in the coming days

Hi again

These noises might be from the secretions that are in the airways.Just use mucolitics such as Viscoflu ones orally for some days until they disappear.

I wish a fast recovery for you
