Reports Showed Absolute Lymphocytosis With Hyperchromatic Lymphocytes. What Does This Mean?
There are different types of white blood cells which are the cells that defend the body against infection , allergies and in some cases inflammation.
Leukocytosis means that there was an increase in white blood cells, leukocytes is sometimes used to refer to white blood cells.
Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell. There are B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes. They respond to different types of infection and inflammation. Absolute lymphocytosis means that there was an increase in the lymphocytes seen in the full blood count.
Lymphocytes can also go up as a reflection of some serious blood disorders such as leukemia but this is less likely to occur compared to an infection.
Hyperchromatic means that when XXXXXXX or stain was applied to the sample the lymphocytes took up more than a normal amount of the stain.
Hyperchromatic lymphocytes means that the lymphocytes were more darkly stained than normal .This can occur in infection and also in more serious conditions such as leukemia.
