Question: I had bronchitis,6 days ago ,got Zithromax & predisone ,still coughing a lot ,surppresants don't help ,i think I strained my diafram, should I ask for an inhaler?
Brief Answer:
Yes, inhaled treatment is best for bronchitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can understand your concern.
Yes, inhaled treatment is best for bronchitis.
Since you are not improving with antibiotic (zithromax) and oral prednisone, you definitely need inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone).
Cough expectorant like N acetyl cystine, ambroxol, terbutaline etc are also beneficial.
So consult doctor and discuss about starting these drugs.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
