Should I Be Concerned About Any Kidney Disease Or Issues?

Posted on 6 days ago
Question: I I have a question. I have some health anxiety in regards to my urine. I for some reason have started paying attention to the fact that I have bubbles/foam sometimes. It seems to be more noticeable in the morning or when I have darker yellow urine. The bubbles tend to disappear for the most part in 3 to 5 min. Nothing stays in the bowl after flushing. It seems to be more noticeable in the mornings. Should I be concerned about any kidney disease or issues. I have no other symptoms

Brief Answer:
Hello,

Detailed Answer:
Hello, welcome to ask a doctor services. I have read your question.

You are passing bubbles in urine. The urine looks dark yellow in colour. You notice these changes particularly in the morning. I can understand your concern.

After waking from sleep in the morning the bladder is mostly full. When urine hits the toilet at a faster speed than normal, it causes water to stir and create bubbles.

Concentrated urine due to dehydration also causes the urine to bubble or foam. You should always keep yourself well hydrated.

However, if the urine is persistently foamy it may be indicative of protein in urine (proteinuria), which requires further evaluation.

You are advised to get clinically examined by a GP, get Urinalysis (R/E & C/S), blood tests to measure all proteins in the serum, urine protein electrophoresis, creatinine clearance test, imaging tests (CT /Ultrasound), etc, done to detect UTI, kidney problem or kidney stones.

Dark yellow colour of the urine is indicative of liver dysfunction, hepatitis, hepatomegaly, etc. Get blood & urine tests done to detect bilirubin. Get liver function tests done. Get imaging tests like ultrasound, CT/MRI done.

Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made & the severity of the symptoms.

In the meantime, you are advised to take a balanced diet. You are advised to take boiled food over hot, spicy, fried food. Do regular exercises, Switch to healthy lifestyle.

Quit smoking, stay away from alcohol or addictions if any. If proteinuria is detected, you will have to control your diet & restrict salt & protein intake.

If liver dysfunction is diagnosed, you will have to take liver tonics and digestives. Taking boiled food and water will help to relieve symptoms.

Take quality sleep to help liver repair its cells faster. Stay at rest, avoid stress & strenuous work.

Get clinically examined & get all required tests done so that treatment can be started at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your question. Take care.
